The Chairman , Lagos State chapter of the University of Lagos Alumni, Dr . Lukumon Adeoti , has said that the youth development programme of the Lagos State Government will lead to job creation.

Adeoti , an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences , #UNILAG , also commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his leadership role and commitment to service delivery.

He said this in a statement on Monday to announce a series of activities of the association slated for February .

While calling on Ambode and other members of the association to support its scholarship trust fund for indigent students , Adeoti said , “ The governor is a true Akokite and has demonstrated that he is taking Lagos state to the promised land of development .

“ It is instructive to note that the massive infrastructural development of Akinwunmi Ambode , particularly his Light up Lagos Project , reconstruction of new and dilapidated roads has eased traffic and movement of people . In the agricultural sector, the governor has not paid lip service but has ensured that Lagos state is one of the rice producing states in Nigeria .

“ Ambode did not leave our youths behind , but he ensured that they are engaged and gainfully employed through an establishment of a N25 bn Employment Trust Fund through which youths are trained to acquire skills . They are financially assisted to become entrepreneurs and employers of labour in order to curb the chronic unemployment that has ravaged our youths .

“ The governor has also provided improved health services and free primary education to lay solid foundation for human development . The state civil service has been restructured to be efficient and to offer quality services to the public . ’
