In every society or community, vision and development go hand in hand. Without a well grounded vision, sustainable development will appear to be fictitious. More so, in the absence of evident results in the areas of development and progress, vision more often than not becomes a mere fantasy. To drive a vision and achieve evident results in different ramifications, there is a critical and fundamental need for every member of that community to contribute his/her own quota to the community's development. These explain why no leader or management team can achieve anything phenomenal without each and every member of the LASU Community contributing his or her own bit and making his or her own sacrifices towards the development of our darling university.

Very distinguished members of LASU Community, I read with so much joy, pride and fulfilment - the news of a lecturer at the School of Communication of the Lagos State University (LASU), Mr Olasunkanmi Arowolo, who introduced Edmodo – a mobile classroom that will constantly keep students abreast of academic activities. The virtual classroom, which is a mobile application will serve as an extension of physical classroom to help create friendly environment for students with low self-esteem. The mobile application allows the lecturer to assign and grade assignments while students can submit their assignment before the due date and time.

With this amazing creativity and brilliance of Mr Arowolo, #LASU has once again affirmed its status as the leading university in this part of the world. Mr Arowolo, despite the challenges being faced by the university in certain areas such as wide 4G internet coverage as well as other areas where the university is working very hard to make resources and infrastructures more available and efficient, he (Mr Arowolo) was still able to defy the odds so much so that he invested his own personal resources with a view to bring this innovation to bare. By this singular act of sacrifice and commitment, Mr Arowolo has carved a niche for himself and the LASU Community. We as Management and equally members of the LASU Community are very proud of Mr Olasunkanmi Arowolo and we celebrate him on his achievement.

To all members of LASU Community, taking the Lagos State University to the next level is not a one man show. It is a journey that requires each and everyone of us to constantly play his/her own role in our respective capacity.

In the past few months, LASU has fully attracted two critical investments from the benevolence of institutions of goodwill. A new primary health care center and a 500-seater auditorium. As it can be seen just opposite the new faculty of science complex on our main campus, these two projects have already started and they will be delivered in no distant time. Also coming on the heels of these is a sprawling 2,000 capacity #CBT Centre in which discussions for its commencement and delivery have reached advanced stage.

Very respected members of LASU Community, these are just some of the very numerous great things we can achieve when we work together as one family - guided and driven by the same values of hard work, sincerity, discipline and commitment to development and peace in our university.

Once again, we say congratulations to Mr Olasunkanni Arowolo and we implore all members of LASU Community to continuously blaze the frontiers of creativity and excellence in their respective capacity. As we've always said : Together, as one #LASU family, we are unstoppable!!!

We are #LASU, We are Proud!
