Jigawa State Government has promised more conducive environment for Corps Members towards an improved performance of their statutory obligations during their service year.

It also stated its readiness to partner with the National Youth Service Corps in its drive to pursue an independently agrarian economy from the Federation Account.

The Acting Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi disclosed this today when he hosted NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim at the Government House in Dutse.

While describing NYSC as a very important agency that is serving as a unifying factor in the country, Namadi added that one of the focal areas of the State Government is Human Capital Development as efforts are on-going to also develop the education and health sectors of the economy.

"Jigawa State is NYSC friendly, we would continue to make Corps Members comfortable with adequate security. We would do everything possible to ensure the welfare of our Corps Members", he said.

He promised that the existing relationship between the State Government and NYSC would be strengthened.

Earlier, the Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim commended Jigawa State Government for the completion of almost all the Corps Lodges spread across the Local Government Areas of the State.

He applauded the Government for timely payment of Corps Members monthly allowance and increment in the local allowance paid to them.

The DG also used the visit to request for land from the State Government for farming activities for the NYSC Scheme.
