, Nigeria.
Health is wealth they say. Of a true health is wealth, because it is only a healthy man that will talk about making wealth and of course be alive to enjoy the fruits of his/her labor.
Health education is one of the most important educations any society should know and her government should invest in. A healthy nation is a productive nation.
The benefits of health education in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. Some of its benefits are:
1) Prevention of diseases: most diseases could have been prevented if only people were educated on how to prevent them before they get infected for instance malaria, typhoid etc. Health education on environmental sanitation and cleanliness will go a long way in the prevention of malaria, cholera and other sicknesses caused as a result of unclean and dirty environment thereby reducing mortality rate.

2) Genotype: most Nigerian citizens do not even know what genotype is not to talk of understanding their genotypes and the different types that are inherent. This is what can be achieved through Health education. Health education will educate the citizens on the different types of genotypes and as well help them know their genotypes. Another very vital importance on genotype education is knowing how not to get married to a person of a certain genotype for instance AS getting married to someone with the same genotype AS. The resultant effect of this union will eventually become horrible and frustrating to both spouses when they bring forth children as that child has huge possibility of carrying the genotype SS which means he/she is a sickler and becomes a serious challenge to the parents. Health education will go a long way in curbing this challenge and mistake most spouses do by going to check their genotypes to know if they are compatible.

3) Blood Group: this is another benefit of health education. When people are educated on the importance of knowing their blood group, it will help save lots of lives in terms of accident and certain illness that will require a blood transfusion. For example, an accident victim(s) who knows his/her blood group can say so very fast and be helped to save his/her life before proper medication can be administered. Most patients who are accident victims die shortly before they can be attended to because they do not their blood groups. As a result, before a test is carried out to determine the blood group, the victim may have passed on.

4) General Hygiene: health is wealth. And as well cleanliness is next to godliness. Health education is very beneficial to the general well being of individuals in the society. When it comes to hygiene its concerns all and sundry as it is very important in our day to day activities and dealings with others and our environment. Proper hygiene will help prevent certain illnesses and diseases. Every parts of our body needs to be taken proper care of.
From the foregoing, the benefits of health education cannot be overemphasized. To gain access to more benefits of health education; be it on sex education, hypertension etc click here
