The Director-General of Nigerian Television Authority, Mallam Yakubu Ibn Mohammed has commended the Management of National Youth Service Corps for mentoring graduate youths for higher responsibilities in the country.

He also appealed to Nigerians to support the Scheme in the discharge of its statutory mandate as a unifying factor in the country.

The DG stated these today when the Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

He added that the invaluable contributions of the NYSC Scheme towards National development since its inception in 1973 cannot be underestimated.

Mallam Mohammed added that the Scheme has birthed lots of inter-tribal marriages through its deployment of Corps Members to different states across the country.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim thanked the Management of NTA for giving wide publicity to the Scheme's programmes.

He stated that there was the need to educate the public on NYSC Act and the expected roles from every stakeholder towards the NYSC Scheme.
