Lemongrass offers diverse health benefits; The plant has long leaves that are similar to those of seagrasses.

Below are some of the health benefits of lemongrass:

Some people inhale lemongrass oil to relief than of stress. Also, smelling lemongrass and sipping the tea may help people with anxiety. This is helpful in calming muscles and nerves that may aid in promoting sleep. Research has shown that its herbal tea has sedative and hypnotic properties, which can help in increasing the duration of sleep.

Prevents Infection
Lemongrass may have some infection-preventing capabilities. The herb seems to reduce the incidence of thrush; a fungal infection that commonly affects people with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV. Also, studies have shown that the herb exerts healing effects on dermatological infections, such as yeast infections, by inhibiting the growth of pathogens.

Boosts red blood cell
According to researchers, drinking lemongrass tea infusions daily for 30 days can increase hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume, and red blood cell count in the body. The antioxidant in this tea helps to serve this purpose.

Relieves bloating
Lemongrass tea can have diuretic effects, which means that it stimulates the kidneys to release more urine than usual. This diuretic effect on the body can be beneficial in cases where water retention leads to bloating, which is a common symptom of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

Skin care
Lemongrass has been treasured as a skin tonic and makes an effective cleanser for oily or acne-prone skin, due to its astringent and antiseptic qualities. It helps in strengthening the skin tissues and toning up the pores while also sterilizing them. However, it should not be over used as it can lead to dermal irritation.
