Out of the 159 accredited observers for the 2019 General Elections, only 42 have so far submitted their reports on the elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said.
This was made known yesterday at the commission’s meeting with the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Abuja, by INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on the ongoing review of the 2019 polls.
According to him, a critical component of the requirements for accreditation of observers was that reports and recommendations be submitted in the format provided for in Chapter 5 of the commission’s guidelines for election observation.
