AN ORATION PRESENTED BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL, NYSC, BRIGADIER-GENERAL S IBRAHIM DSS BA MA PGDE PhD MTRCN AT THE FUNERAL SERVICE OF LATE MRS. OLUDOLAPO OMOLARA AHILE ON THURSDAY, 13TH JUNE, 2019 AT CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MINISTRIES ABUNDANT LIFE, JABI, ABUJA

Late Mrs Oludolapo Omolara Ahile was born on the 20th March, 1965 in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State. She attended St. Theresa’s College, Ibadan and thereafter proceeded to the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo, University) from where she bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry in 1986. She was deployed to Niger State for the National Youth Service and served at Government Teachers’ College, Mokwa in 1987

2. Her passion and interest in youth development propelled her to join the NYSC Scheme and was posted to the FCT Secretariat as Inspector I. She was later posted to Osun State Secretariat where she served as the pioneer Schedule Officer of the then newly introduced Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurships Development Programme (SAED). Mrs Ahile rose through the ranks to attain the position of Deputy Director as a result of her hard work and excellent performance, and was posted to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja where she was in charge of the Certification Division, between January, 2017 – October, 2017.

3. Mrs. Oludolapo Omolara Ahile was later appointed Kogi State NYSC Coordinator on the 30th October, 2017 and served in that capacity until her demise on Friday 17th May, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained in a ghastly motor accident along Lafia-Makurdi Express Road.

4. Mrs. Ahile will certainly be remembered as a humble, humane, peaceful and result-oriented officer whose knack for hard work, warm disposition to staff and Corps members’ welfare and commitment to duty endeared her to colleagues, subordinates, Corps members, as well as Government and people of Kogi State who are all mourning her transition.

5. Undeniably, the National Youth Service Corps has lost a great asset, an officer of high repute who was very passionate about the progress of the Scheme and indeed contributed in no small measure towards its upliftment through conscientious execution of all the tasks assigned her in the course of her twenty-seven year meritorious career in the Scheme, brutally truncated by death.

6. We are however consoled by the fact that she left indelible imprints in the proverbial sands of time during her short, but eventful and impactful lifetime- during which she positively touched so many people, particularly the youths whom she had so much love for.

7. A Latin maxim says: Vox Populi, Vox Dei, translated: The voice of the people is the voice of God. Therefore, given the overflow of wonderful testimonies about Mrs. Oludolapo Ahile, we have no iota of doubt that she is already in beatific state, enjoying the peace and bliss of the everlasting Kingdom.

8. Our loss is Heaven’s gain, and as we collectively mourn her temporary separation from us, overwhelmed by the gaping lacuna created by her absence, we pray the Almighty God to comfort her husband, children and family members.

9. May her gentle soul continue to rest peacefully and blissfully in the Lord.
Signed
