Samwo-Olu, who had earlier commended NYSC staff and Corps Members nationwide, for their immense contributions towards the success of the 2019 General Elections added that the successful participation of the scheme in the elections has further attested to the relevance of NYSC.

'The scheme has gone a long way in the actualization of its noble objectives. There are more grounds to cover in the realization of a more developed and greater Nigeria through youth reorientation and empowerment both in entrepreneurial and leadership skills",the Governor said.

The Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs Bose Okakwu said the workshop was designed to enable top management of the NYSC, State Coordinators and collaborating partners meet, with a view to evaluating the previous orientation course and bring on board, new strategies that will facilitate the successful conduct of the forthcoming exercise.

The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim

"The NYSC Act put the responsibility of provision and maintenance of Orientation Camp on State Governments.

This has become necessary in view of the current dilapidated condition of many Orientation Camps and inadequate facilities. I wish to appeal to the State Governments to rise to the ocassion by providing permanent camps and upgrade facilities", DG added.
