Let the truth be said for once. We have been living in denial over Ebonyi state.

The truth is that Ebonyi people are not igbos. Ebonyi people traced their origin to Taraba.
Over 50% of Ebonyi people are Muslims. Ebonyi people do not have the culture of the mainstream Igbos.

While core Igbos from Anambra, Enugu, Imo and Abia are Christians, but Ebonyi people chose the way of their origin which is Islam.

It is easier to understand the igbo language spoken by Rivers-Igbo and Delta-Igbo than to understand the igbo spoken by Ebonyi people.

Ebonyi people are treated like shiit even by fellow igbos from Anambra, Enugu, Imo and Abia.
Once you say you are from Ebonyi, people around usually turn away in anger and will never want to identify with you.

It is only an Ebonyi man that can travel to Lagos, Abuja, Onitsha, Warri, Kano just to hawk gala and bread, something he could just stay in Ebonyi state and do. Or i forgot Ebonyi state is a dry land with mostly poor people.

Ebonyi people behaves like hausa people, no wonder they are called hausa-almajiris.
