Mark 15:27-32

“They crucified two rebels with him, one on the right and one on the left” Mark 15:27.

One of the things Joseph hated about telling others about himself is where he lives. Everybody knows that that part of the city is the hotbed of crime and any young person from there was viewed with suspicion. It was not enough that Jesus had to die, crucifying Him with criminals was a way of branding Him as one. In fact, Jesus’ cross stood in between two hardened criminals and man passersby could not tell the difference between Him and these criminals.
Indeed, Jesus, God’s Son lived among sinners all His life and even in His death, He was identified with them. But this did not stop Jesus from being glorified with God. Do you live in a neighbourhood known for vice or have you come from a family that has a bad reputation and are often misjudged for this? Maybe very few members of your church really live as Christians. Don’t lose heart. Follow Christ’s example, though He was treated as a criminal, and suffered for our wrongdoing, He continued to minister to those that life brought His way (I Peter 4:19). You can also do the same. Let your light continue to shine no matter how thick the darkness is, then through you someone may know the light of Christ.

Birthday Blessing: “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” Psalm 91:11.

RBT Passage: Psalms 9 – 17

“The Christian’s light shines brightest in the thickest darkness”. – Anonymous
