Ezekiel Joseph Mayowa, a student of the Lagos State Polytechnic, has killed himself after he was dumped by his girlfriend.

The 34-year-old man took the drastic decision to drink a poisonous substance on Thursday night and his corpse was discovered in his residence at Eyita, Ikorodu, around 5am on Friday. .

He had gone live on his Facebook to reveal the reason behind his action and called on the federal government to scrap NYSC, blaming it for the reason why he lost his girlfriend of 9 years, Bolaji Temi.

However, while confirming the news, the Lagos State Police said when interrogated, the girlfriend revealed that Mayowa was fond of beating her and that they were even together and he still beat her hours before he committed suicide.
