Life after school is always so interesting to look forward to when you are still in school. But the reverse is the case when one is stuck at home job hunting. Going out takes a whole toll on you as you calculate the expenses that may arise and you politely decline. In just a few weeks, you will see your friends evolve, they go for events and they also politely avoid inviting you because they have a vague view of what your account balance and they do not want to upset your pocket.

It is at this time that you start making friends with benefits – those who are looking for jobs like you do. The ones that are kind enough to send you job links and invite you over for the latest job offer they have seen. In a bid to share in your worries, this article lists five things you can do while job hunting.

1. Clean Up Your CV

By now, I believe that a serious job hunter should have a decent CV. Your CV speaks for you better than your personal presence can. Therefore, it is a worthy task to cloud your CV with achievements you have gathered over the years. Write out something that will stand you out. Trust me, errors can be hanging out somewhere, so make sure you read through before sending it out.

2. Do Your Research

Research like never before. One friend told me earlier that there are vacancies all around but there are a good amount of unemployable candidates on the streets or in our case on the web. To tap into this vacancy river, you have to research. Find out where you will fit in and places you will fit in.

3. Network

I did a toll a while ago and I discovered that a large percentage of people got jobs through networking and few through direct placements. This means that the people in your contacts and the ones you meet daily or in the future have the key to your job placement. Establish key communication skills and tell people what you do.

4. Take Online Courses

Knowledge is never a waste, take joy in learning more. There are a lot of free courses online ranging from digital marketing, IT and other subjects you can learn from. Take advantage of the free opportunity you have to harness them. People get good jobs after taking these lesson and showing worthy samples that they can do the job.

5. Never Lose Faith

You might have gone through lots of processes in job hunting and it seems as if nothing is coming forth. Do not lose sight of this season of droughts and believe a turn around will happen one fateful day. Keep working on yourself, keep networking, keep believing.
