Jobs has been scarce lately, people hardly consume 3 full
meals in a day. Despite the fact, most people eat what they
want, buy new phones, electronics, live life lavishly and do
many other good things
The business that we take for granted is sometimes the most
profitable, we all aim for white collar jobs but still struggle to
pay our bills, meet up in the society and find liesure time to
enjoy our lives, which self employed people do at ease. A
tricycle rider may earn up to 7,000 Naira per day which is
roughly 210,000 Naira per month, a banker earn at least 70,000
per month, struggle to pay his bills with that salary and he dare
not miss a single working day, but a self employed person may
decide not to go to work the next day after he has earn a good
sum of money.
Don't get me wrong, am not trying to say white collar jobs are
not good, but take a look at the scarcity of white collar jobs,
some people still find it hard to be financially free, why not try
another method?
• Bread and Akara
Some workers wake up very early in the morning and don't
have time to cook, because they have to rush to work. This is
where you come in, people usually have it in mind that they
will have to buy food at work or just find something good to
satisfy their hunger on their way to work. You can rent a space
at a busy spot and make a wooden stall, wake up at 4 am,
prepare big akara which should look almost like the size of an
adult hand that you can sell for #50 or #100 and order loaves
of bread from from a bakery (most bakeries finish baking their
bread at dawn). You should be able to sell out before 5pm.
• Chilled mineral and water
Water is a free gift or nature, despite this fact, people need to
drink water after of without eating. An average human being
consumes at least 3 litres of water per day, some people can't
do without drinking soft drinks per day.
You may decide to rent shop in a busy road or find a stall
close to the market, buy packaged water and soft drinks in
bulk and sell to hawkers or retailers.
• Food joint
This is one of the most profitable small scale venture. You
may find a good company and lobby for the post of a food
vendor or rent shops on a busy road and sell food for
motorists and pedestrians, you may also decide to sell
indomie, egg, bread and tea in the evening after morning
• Bean pudding (moi moi)
Some people prepare it very early in the morning and sell with
hot pap, you may also decide to produce and sell it with bread
or Cold pap (eko) in the evening to people returning from work
and are looking for something good to satisfy their hunger.
• Snacks
This includes doughnuts, sausage, egg roll, fish pie, meat pie,
fried yam, turkey and many other things which you can sell on
busy streets, markets, to school children, in a company or
produce in bulk and sell to retailers.
The main reason why I selected this five is that; we humans
can't do without satisfying our thirst and hunger, you can also
feed yourself and your children from what you are selling.
