Soap is mostly used for washing and bathing. Medicated soap
is different from normal soaps as it has vast uses than the
later, it helps in prevention and cure of toilet infections, skin
diesease, hair infections and many other.
Am using this platform to teach you how to produce medicted
soap with a simple technique from home . This method will
also give you the same result with those made in big
factories. Everyone started small and later became famous, I
will be giving you a few tips to dominate the medicated soap
market zone in your area.
Equipments needed
• Bucket
• Lid (to cover one of the buckets)
• Nylon (for packaging)
• Knife
• Stamp (optional)
• Gloves
• Nose cover
• Mould
Ingredients
• Pko oil
• Caustic soda
• Sodium silicate
• Sodium sulphate
• Perfume
• Colour
• Carbolic acid
• Phenol
• Pine oil
These are the uses of the ingredients listed above, the
measurement needed and where you can purchase them.
• Pko oil
The main action of pko oil is its effective cleaning and bubble
making properties. You only need 30 litres.
• Caustic soda
This is an alkali also known as sodium hydroxide (Naoh). You
only need 15 litres for production.
• Sodium silicate
This ingredients gives any soap the shining effect (it makes the
soap shine when applied to surfaces). You only need 1/2 liter
for production.
• Sodium sulphate
It makes the soap hard. You only need a little.
• Perfume: Any fragrance is okay.
• Colour: You can buy any color and use as desired.
• Carbolic acid: it is an antibacterial agent, and you only need
1/4 litre for production. You can buy it at #250.
• Phenol: it is also an antibacterial agent. You only need 1/2
litre. You can buy it at #350.
• Pine oil
It gives the soap a “dettol” scent 1/2 litre is enough. You can
buy it at #450.
Note: The prices of these ingredients may vary in different
areas. You can purchase these ingredients in places where
raw materials for cosmetics are sold, you can also ask
traders on where to buy them.
Soap making process
• Step 1: Dissolve the caustic soda in a bucket overnight and
cover, this will allow it to ferment
• Step 2: Pour the pko oil into the bucket and stir
• Step 3: Add the phenol, pine oil and Carbolic acid, stir again
• Step 4: Add the colour and perfume
• Step 5: Add the sodium silicate and stir
• Step 6: Pour the mixture into moulds and leave it to get
solid
• Step 7: Cut with a knife and stamp (draw you desired logo or
name on the soap)
Packaging and selling
Purchase nylons with your company name and logo printed on
it, make sure the name and logo is printed clearly. Ask for
price of other medicated soaps around you, lower your price a
little and make your produce bigger than theirs. When people
purchase in cartons from you, give them a free gift e.g two
free soaps. Advertise to friends, families, neighbors, shopping
malls and stalls. Make sure the product is cut neatly and
packaged in a unique way and make profits.
