Corps Members have been admonished to avoid any act that can breach public peace but serve as agents of peace and national unity in their respective place of primary assignments.

Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Abubakar gave this advise while declaring the 2019 Batch 'A' Orientation Course closed in the NYSC Camp, Wailo.

He said since it's inception, the NYSC Scheme has been blazing the trail in harnessing youth expertise and their potentials for the promotion of National unity and socio-economic development.

The Governor added that the achievements of the Scheme through credible elections, health, education, rural infrastructure, social improvement initiatives, agriculture and community development are visible nationwide.

Alhaji Abubakar also enjoined the Corps Members to participate actively in Post-Camp training of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of the NYSC in order to be self reliant at the end of the service year instead of searching for paid jobs.

'Our communities are eagerly waiting to benefit from your selfless service. I therefore urged you to contribute your quota to the development of our state. Ensure that you respect the culture, tradition and norms of your host community'.

'Shun violence, but uphold peace and be an advocate of unity wherever you find yourselves', Governor Abubakar said.

The Governor, who was represented at the ceremony by his deputy, Architect Audu Sule Katagum commended the managers of the Scheme at all levels for sustaining the lofty vision of its founding fathers by lifting it to enviable heights which has not only attracted the admiration of Nigerians but accloades from the international community.
