The Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS), a Lagos-based International Graduate School, has put arrangements in place to train senior personal and executive assistants from across Nigeria and other African countries.

The one-week training workshop scheduled to hold from Tuesday, January 15 to Saturday, January 19, 2019, will bring professionals together to deliberate on the roles and responsibilities of personal assistants and executive assistants of the future,

CIAPS, the first paperless academic institution in Africa, as well as career development and training programme, is an initiative with inputs from ECAPS, Cambridge, The Global PA Association London and The Executive Assistant Network Sydney.

Prof. Anthony Kila, the Centre Director, noted that the programme is aimed at experienced and new senior personal assistants and executives, management and executive assistants that desires to improve on their performance and those that are new to the role but want to reach high levels.

The Centre Director explained that the programme has been designed to accommodate inputs from company chairmen and directors, ministers and commissioners, legislators, advisers and top consultants.

Kila noted that many people dangerously under-estimate important roles of personal and executive assistants, adding that it is a shame that too many people also do not realise that a huge fraction of success and failures of senior managers and companies can be attributed to the people working with them in that capacity.

“As a matter of fact, I am convinced that to predict the performance of an executive and an office, part of what you need do is just to observe the assistants.

As part of the programme, participants will have a special session with a CEO to discuss the practical side of assisting projects, offices and events,” Kila said.

Also, Sadie Davies, CIAPS Administrator and Events Coordinator, noted that technology will play a major role in the way personal and executive assistants of the future will discharge their duties and responsibilities effectively.

According to her, the event will be an opportunity to share direct and inside tips about our ever-moving sector of administrators and project assistants.
