In the last 50 years of commercial air travel in
Nigeria , over three dozens of airlines have
come and gone as a result of politics,
mismanagement of funds, corruption,high cost
of aviation fuel or financial loss.

According to International Air Transport
Association, Nigeria ,together with some other
African countries , are among the most
expensive places to do airline business .
From the federal government-owned Nigeria
Airways to Concord Airline ,owned by the
presumed winner of June 12,1993 election,
these are AutoJosh's 16 famous Nigerian
airlines that no longer exist:

1) Okada Air
From 1983 to 1997

2) ADC Airlines
From 1984 to 2006

3) Afrijet Airlines
From 1998 to 2009

4) Sosoliso Airlines
From 1994 to 2006

5) Albarka Air
From 1999 to 2005

6) Bellview Airlines
From 1992 to 2010

7) Concord Airline
From 1990,collapsed after the 1993

8 Nigeria Airways
From 1971 to 2003

9) Virgin Nigeria (Rebranded as Nigerian Eagle

From 2004 to 2009

10) Arax Airlines
From 1977 to 1988

11) Chrome Air Service
From 1999 to 2006

12) EAS Airlines
From 1993 to 2006
Rebranded as Nicon Airways

13) Nicon Airways
From 2006 to 2007

14) Freedom Air Services
From 1998 to 2005

15) Fresh Air (airline)
From 1999 To 2006

16) Pan African Airlines
From 1961 to 2000
