A concerned group, the Bade Emirate Youths Development Forum (BEYODEF), Gashua, Yobe State has accused the Federal Government of lopsided appointment in the recent 2018 academic and non-academic staff recruitment into the Federal University in the state.

The group, BEYODEF in a petition signed by its Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Saddiq, a copy of which was made available to Daily Independent in Damaturu reads in parts: “The inability of the Management of Federal University, Gashua to publish a comprehensive list of successful candidates, following the 2018 academic and non-academic staff recruitments has continued to cast doubt on the minds of discerning folks whose hope to see the institution grow to a citadel of academic excellence is deadened”.

“Some forces from both, within and outside have collaborated and were working very hard to ensure that their interests are protected. To authenticate their fraud after the general aptitude test and respective interviews, there was a special candidates’ interview/screening, among them were mostly those candidates that failed the earlier aptitude tests”.

“This clearly shows how corrupt and incapacitated the Vice Chancellor was. He is just playing his card through politics without representing the interest of the concerned citizens. As we clearly stated in our previous piece titled, “Gashua Varsity: An earnest Call for the Removal of the VC” remains on track.

“We are reaffirming our stand based on enough pieces of evidence for the Federal Government to remove the VC. So long as he remains in this institution, the goals on which the University was established will never be achieved. This is because he has apparently shown how inexperienced, incompetent, corrupt and biased he is. He can never take the University to the Promised Land. Therefore, he Must Go”, the group demanded.

The group had in the petition accused the management of the University of Name Substitutions and dared the Vice-Chancellor to publish the original list with names of successful candidates and those that were subsequently invited and participated in the interview and aptitude test.

“BEYODEF is in possession of the original and comprehensive list of candidates who participated and passed the aptitude test and interview respectively and any attempt to present otherwise will not be accepted. Experience has shown that candidates who were invited for the interview turned out to only act a script premeditated for authentication of a scandalous process for legitimization to give way for placement of favouritism,” the group said.
