Pupils of Olashore International School, Iloko-Ijesha, Osun State recently captured leadership challenge facing the country in an anniversary play staged as part of the school’s silver jubilee celebration.

The issue of leadership which resonated at the play staged in Osun and Lagos states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was written by Chief Jimi Solanke, a writer, actor, director, songwriter, singer and poet, titled “Etiti: All Eyes on You”.

However, in summary, the play signals to demonstrate good leadership from elders and those in places of authority to find ruminate on the various challenges facing the society and proffer lasting solutions.

Also, youths are also advised to harness their youthful energies to create jobs for themselves in order to enhance their future and stay clear from laziness.

‘Etiti’ in the play represents both the spiritual and overall belief of people anywhere in the world. The play tabled down the problems confronting the youths, as well as the nonchalant attitude of some elderly people in power concerning the present day predicaments of the youths.

Mr Derek Smith, Principal, Olashore International School who spoke on the choice of the play said, “We at Olashore International School decided to stage this big play in various cities across Nigeria as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration.

Similarly, the Chairman, Board of Governors, Olashore International School, Prince Abimbola Olashore, reiterates “In the school, we believe in all-round education, and drama fits into the key pillars. For us, we try to make our drama reflect Nigeria and its culture.

The student lead character who acted as Etiti/the Storyman, Bolarinwa Elegbede, explained that he practised his lines every day till it became his morning routine; hence he played out his role perfectly.
