UEFA Champions League round five is done and dusted. A number of groups are still active as we go to the final round of matches. A good example is Group C. Napoli won their match against Belgrade to go top with 9 points and PSG are now second with 8 points after beating Liverpool in Paris. All three teams can go through but the French side will fancy a big win against a team they hammered six goals in the first leg. Jurgen Klopp must win by at least 2 goals to book their place in the last 16. Today, we want to focus on highest paid goalkeepers in the World today.

5. Hugo Lloris- £120, 000 per week

Tottenham Hotspurs has a perfect mix of youth and experience at the moment. The club has also handled star-players contract issues very well like Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. In 2016, the club number one goalkeeper Hugo Lloris signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2022. He is now one of top earners at the club with a weekly wage of £120, 000.
4. Alisson Becker- £120,000 per week

Liverpool paid a massive £67 million in July to sign Brazil number one goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma. The Reds needed new pair of safe hands after going through a shameful scenario in UEFA Champions League final. The 25-year-old is now taking home £120, 000 per week at Anfield. He is one of the top earners in the team.

3. Manuel Neuer- £130,000 per week

Bayern Munich number one goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is one of the best paid players at Allianz Arena. The 2014 World Cup winner takes home £130,000 per week. He is famous for his sweeper tactics that help the team to keep a high line to pressure the opposition. However, in recent months, he has struggled with poor form and injuries.

2. Kepa Arrizabalaga- £195,000 per week

Chelsea paid £71.5m to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao last summer. The fee is a new World record for a goalkeeper. The Spaniard was hurriedly signed to replace Thibaut Courtois who ditched the Blues for Real Madrid. Kepa is now the second highest paid goalkeeper in Premier League with £195,000 per week. The 23-year-old signed a 7-year contract.

1. David De Gea- £200,000 per week

Manchester United is currently negotiating a new deal with goalkeeper David De Gea. The Spaniard has been immense for the club since he signed in 2011 from Atletico Madrid. He has wanted to leave several times but according to close sources, he now wants to stay in Manchester. He earns £200,000 per week but to sign a new deal, he wants the club to pay him £350,000 per week. This will make him the highest paid shot-stopper in history.
