Reigning African women’s footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria and South Africa’s Chrestina Thembi Kgatlana will battle for the top scorer’s gong as the curtain is drawn on the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations with the final clash between the two teams today (Saturday) in Ghana, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The epic final clash between defending champions and eight-time winners the Super Falcons of Nigeria and Banyana Banyana of South Africa will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, from 5pm Nigerian time, 4pm local time.

But aside from the task of helping their respective nations win the title, both players will be determined to also pick individual accolade as well.

Kgatlana top the scorers chart with five goals from four games. She netted the winning goal in South Africa’s 1-0 win against Nigeria in their first Group B match of the tournament.

Oshoala who fired blanks in Nigeria’s opening two games in the competition against South Africa and the Shepolopolo of Zambia came alive in the Super Falcon’ last Group B game against the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in which she scored three goals in her team’s 6-0 win.

The forward will now have to score three goals to usurp Kgatlana at the top of
scorers chart.

The duo are also among the nominees for the 2018 CAF African Women’s Footballer of the Year Award.
