This three (3) points are going to help you to know more about gaining admission into university. The Content: Point no.1 is what every Jamb candidate should know.
No.2 Contain what you need to know about departmental cut off mark.
No.3 Contain what you need to know about post utme cut off point.
1) The first thing you need to know is schools that accepts second choice, because there are many schools that doesn't accept second choice. You need to find about institution that accepts second choice candidate. After that proceeds to choose any institution of your choice as second choice when registering for Jamb.
Point of sharing this, is that many people choose schools that doesn't accept any applicant that choose the school for second choice.



2) Departmental cut off mark.
This is one of the predominant area which students have issues.
After Jamb result you will check the institution of your choice to know that departmental cut off mark maybe your jamb score can be accepted in your department. For example, a particular applicant scored 205 in Jamb and want to study Micro-biology faculty of science and the institution cut off mark for micro-biology is 190, the applicant will be rest assured of gaining admission. But the institution authorities may decide to increase the cut off mark to 225 base on the performances of other applicants that scores high and applied for the same course. Then the applicant will be frustrated to change course.
The point of sharing this, student must prepare to adapt to any changes and ready for another option.


3) Post UTME cut off point for a particular course.
This is one of the perplexing area where student have some issues.
Some institution don't release their post UTME cut off point for a particular course and it is a serious issue for some students. For example an applicant scored 57.50 in post UTME, and the cut off point for the course he applied for is 60.00 when the institution offers such applicant admission the applicant will be astonished because the applicant don't apply course he was given. Students must prepare for any challenges.
