Incase you care to know

ASUU LAUTECH may not pull out of the national strike because of the following :

1. Because of the issue of funding in the school.

2. Out of the 7 demands by Asuu, LAUTECH case is 4

3. The Asuu zonal coordinator is from LAUTECH. It is difficult for the institution to pull out.

4. Who will be the union sympathizer if she pull out ?

If the national strike is eventually suspended, the union will still have to hold congress. The members congressional decision would determine if the union will embark on internal strike or not. Except the school management is able to meet up with its demands.

It should be known that the school management paid a month salary last two weeks out of the 11 months she's owing. The expectation was that the school will pay two months out of the previous debt owed as agreed. But to their chagrin, the school management only paid a month.

Recall that the council chairman made a statement on on rave FM few months that the school is not owing the staff. He told the public that his administration is not owing them any debt. Until recently the school management agreed and to pay two months up front. But Only a month was paid.

The issue is not even about salary but proper funding, commitment and trust from government and council.

LAUTECH problem is funding. The non release of subventions has really affected a lot of things. Whilst perpetual increment of school fees may not be sustainable.

JAC has resumed today. Hopefully the national Asuu may suspend its strike soon to give the school direction.

I pray for total restoration.
