Juventus are on the hunt for a replacement for Alex Sandro after the latest round of contract talks with the defender were put on ice, reports say.

Sandro has been locked in talks with Juventus for several months, but the club and player are struggling to come to an agreement.

Manchester United and Chelsea have long been linked with a transfer move for Sandro and Juventus now seem to be edging towards offloading the Brazilian.

Corriere dello Sport claim talks have broken down again and replacements for the full-back are already being looked at.

Barcelona’s Jordi Alba, Real Madrid’s Marcelo and Benfica’s Grimaldo are all options for Juventus and the club think either of the trio would be an excellent replacement for Sandro.

Sandro wants a £4.4million-a-year deal to extend his stay at Juventus beyond 2020, but the Italian side are unwilling to meet that demand.

Should negotiations fail to move forward, Juventus would be tempted to invite offers for Sandro in 2019.

The Brazil international stoked speculation about his future this week by admitting his goal was to play in the Premier League some day.

‘I think, one day, who knows what will happen?,’ Sandro replied when asked about playing in England.

‘I have a desire to play in the Premier League but right now I am very happy where I am at, the club I am at [Juventus], the league I am playing in.

‘So today my only thought is to continue where I am because that’s where I feel happy.
