5 Shockers About Pregnancy. by Happy (f): 6:39am on November 9

Whether you have had babies or not, you would be shocked at the symptoms some pregnant women have. So, saddle up to learn a thing or two about the tiny beings in the belly.

1. Varicose veins on the vulva

If you are familiar with ‘varicose veins’, you will know that it usually occurs on the legs. It simply refers to unusually enlarged veins. However, it is possible for this to occur on the vulva, the collection of external part of your genitalia. This can’t be treated while you’re pregnant but putting ice packs on it while at home may help. Don’t worry though, no matter how enlarged your vulva is, it shouldn’t affect childbirth.

2. Vaginal discharge

Discharge is common in all women but when you are pregnant, it may increase to the point that you have to wear a pad. Why? Well, your cervix is particularly responsive to hormonal changes and when you are pregnant, your hormones are haywire, not to mention the increased blood flow. There is no need to worry except if it smells terribly or has a weird colour.

3. Unending fatigue

We all know that pregnancy comes with fatigue but do you know that even from the first trimester, you may begin experiencing that fatigue? It could be so bad that you sleep for 12 hours a night and still wake up feeling like a truck ran you over.

4. Leg cramps

What is most annoying is that this may come only at night, making sleep impossible. This is why it is advised that you stay hydrated, massage your legs, stretch and even eat bananas right before bed to relax your muscles.

5. New symptoms per pregnancy

Having 5 children is no guarantee that you will experience the same symptoms all through. Each pregnancy may be a completely different experience. Thus, don’t be shocked.

I hope you have been educated.
