Salt is an ingredient used to make bland food tasty. However, there are many other ways you can use salt in your day to day life. Here are three ways to use salt in your kitchen:

1. Sweeten your coffee

Did you know that salt can sweeten your coffee? Well, adding a small portion of salt in your coffee grounds will definitely make it sweet and smooth. It will also make it lose its bitter taste.

2. Keep foods vibrant green

Eating green and flavorful food is everyone’s desire. However, this can only be achieved if you add a small portion of salt in your boiling water before adding these foods to help them retain their green color (chlorophyll) and flavour when cooking them.

3. Perfect scrambled eggs

When cooking eggs, always add salt when scrambling them. Salt helps in breaking down proteins in eggs hence breaking their bond. This keeps the eggs tender which won’t dry easily. This is the best way to make scrambled eggs.

In conclusion, salt can also be used in preventing moulds from growing on food, keeping fish fresh, cleaning utensils such as pans and pots. Did you know that you can also use salt in healing a bee stinks?
