Some gunmen, yesterday, abducted a former Council Chairman in Ondo State, Dele Fagoriola.

Fagoriola was the Chairman of Akure North in 2004/2007 under the administration of the late Governor Olusegun Agagu.

It was learnt that the victim was kidnapped in his farm located at the boundary of Ondo/ Ekiti states along Akure-Ikere Ekiti Road.

The gunmen, according to sources, trailed him to the farm and kidnapped him around 3pm.

His elder brother, Busuyi, who confirmed the abduction, said that the abductors were yet to open discussion with the family.

Also speaking, one of the victim’s workers at the farm said his boss came to the farm to supervise them only for the gunmen to storm the place.

According to him, the gunmen, who were young boys, masked and brandished dangerous weapons.

Ondo State Police Command spokesman, Femi Joseph, said detectives had been deployed to the area to rescue the victim.
