MONOTHEISM
This is the belief in ONE GOD.

POLYTHEISM
This is the belief in MULTIPLE GODS.

Let's proceed
The Bible began thus "In the beginning God..." God here in Hebrew stands for Elohim. Robert Girdlestone noted that Elohim is found some 2,555 times in the Old Testament. In 2,310 of these cases the title refers to the true God, while in the remaining 245 instances the word is employed in a variety of “lower senses”
Jackson Wayne said.. "Some reputable scholars suggest that the term subtly previews the concept of the Trinity, which, consistent with the well-recognized principle of progressive revelation, blossoms fully and gloriously into bloom in the New Testament".

Robert Girdlestone furthermore stated that“It is clear that the fact of the word Elohim being plural in form does not at all sanction polytheism” (Ibid., 34).
From Jackson Wayne

"[T]here is certainly nothing unreasonable in the supposition that the name of the Deity was given to man in this form, so as to prepare him for the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons" (Ibid., 34-35).
It is important to observe that the biblical writers do not hesitate to affirm that God is “one” (cf. Deuteronomy 6:4; James 2:19), while using plural pronouns to reflect divine activity (cf. Genesis 1:26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8). Jesus himself said, “I and my father are one” (John 10:30). Note that “I” and “my father” reflect two personalities. The verb “are" is plural. And yet, “one” is a singular numeral. In the Greek Testament the numeral hen (one) is a neuter gender form, suggesting identity of nature. In this sentence, therefore, there is an affirmation of dual personalities sharing an identical nature".

The mystery of the Trinity has not been fully understood. St Augustine tried but couldn't and St Athanasius' stated that, "The Father is incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible and the Holy spirit incomprehensible and yet there are not three incomprehensible but one Incomprehensible"

Each of the of personalities in the Godhead shares the same nature. No one is more powerful than the other, the Father is mighty, the Son is mighty and the Holy Spirit is mighty and yet there are not three mighty but one mighty. Everything that was written in the scriptures were in accordance with prophecies and were in order. From the prehistoric times, God functioned as the Father and 2018 yrs ago God functioned as the Son reconciling man back to himself and right now, we're in the dispensation of God functioning as the Holy Spirit.

That was the true plan of God until man deviated to Polytheism. In polytheism there are numerous gods e.g the Egyptians worshipped numerous gods, the sun god, agricultural god, god of the nile, goddess of fertility etc(watch this movie "The gods of Egypt) and the Greeks worshipped Zeus(the most powerful to others), Perseus the son of Zeus etc. Now, this gods are different from each other, meaning that they are warring beings and most times Kill each other. Sacrifices are being carried out for each of this gods, the goddess of fertility, the god of agriculture, the sun god, the moon god etc. Different gods with different personalities, some are referred to as male and females e.g Apollos and Diana. These gods are most times sexual perverts(recall the prostitutes at the temple) and Warriors.
Paul said "You worship whom you don't know" the image of the true God has being converted to images, reptiles and others.

So, with the understanding of this, is Christianity Polytheism? To me it isn't.
