Joshua was in talks to face the WBC heavyweight king in a multi-million-pound unification bout earlier this year.

However, the pair’s respective teams failed to come to terms and Joshua was ordered by the WBA to face Alexander Povetkin, who he defeated in September.

The failed negotiations irked many boxing fans, who are keen to see duo lock horns with one another.

And according to Fury, who will face Wilder on December 1 , Joshua received a £61million offer to do battle with his fellow Olympian.

“I know some quite close details on that,” Fury said during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.
“The details is: Wilder’s team offered Joshua’s team £61million ($80million) for a two-fight deal.

“£38million ($50million) for the first fight and £23million ($30million) for the rematch if Joshua lost. And they declined that.

“And my lawyer - Robert Davis - he saw proof of funds from Al Haymon.

“So Eddie Hearn and his chum buddies can say all this, that and the other, but I know the truth. Because proof of funds was seen.”
Should Fury be successful in his bid to capture the WBC heavyweight crown, a Battle of Britain with Joshua could be in his future.

‘The ‘Gypsy King’ doesn’t foresee such a bout coming to fruition and believes Joshua’s team will do everything in their power to protect him from the difficult fights which await him in the division.

“It’s about money,” Fury said when asked why he thought a fight between Joshua and Wilder has failed to materialise. “Keeping the golden goose laying them eggs and looking after it.

“The thing is with Anthony Joshua, he’s an Olympic gold medallist and in the UK he’s a massive star. He sells out stadiums. 70,000, 90,000. Huge star. So why would you want to get him beat by somebody nobody has really heard of?

“They took the risk in the (Wladimir) Klitschko fight. It almost didn’t pay off. They scraped through by the skin of their teeth. But he done it, fair play.

“He got off the canvas, showed a champion’s heart to get off to come back and knockout Klitschko. Fair play.

"But since then, they haven’t remotely stepped up at all. They fought Joseph Parker and he didn’t knock Joseph Parker out. He didn’t even hurt Joseph Parker.
