Crisis Of The Mind. by SocratesJrUnn (m): 9:14am on November 6

Vouloir c'est pouvoir. John Mason in his book "imitation is Limitation," stated the story of a middle-aged Woman who had an heart attack and was rushed to the emergency room.

And while on the operating table, she had a near-death experience; seeing God, she asked if this was her last. And God said No, that she have another 43yrs, 2months and 8days to live. But upon recovery she decided to stay in the hospital and have a tummy tuck, face-lift, liposuction and the whole works.

She also had someone to change her hair colour seeing that she had so much life remaining. After the final procedure she was discharged but while crossing the street outside, she was killed by an ambulance on high speed. Arriving in the presence of God, she fumed and said, “I thought you said I had another 40+ yrs.” And God replied, “ I didn't recognize you.”

Some of the most heart throbbing questions we ask ourselves is,“Who am I?”“What's my purpose on earth?”and“Why am I Me?” We spend days and nights in a bid to answer this questions. I don't know who you are but you can find out who you are yourself.

But some persons in their bid to be noticed end up becoming photocopied like someone else. You can't be the best by being photocopied, you must be original to be the best. They do things they ain't suppose to do, move with the wrong crowd, dress the way they aren't suppose to, just to impress people. Do you live to impress people only or yourself? Do you act the way you're acting because you are you or because people want you to be the you, you are not?

A dog can never be a Lion and neither can an elephant become an Antelope. You must know who you are and what you want out of life. A man at 50 can still be confused about his identity if not settled with earlier. He that doesn't know who he is follows the crowd.

You are you for a purpose;a purpose only you can find out and you have your own purpose to fulfill in life and not that of others. Andre Gide said, “It is better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you're not.”Be original and don't be the part 2 of someone else's life.

Do you wanna live your footprint through the sand of time? Then become YOU. Doubting who we are and what we can be leads to mental and physical slavery. Why should you think you're inferior to anyone? The Eagle can never wish to be a Chicken because they're both birds.

The first thing you must learn in discovering yourself is to ‘love your self.’Its surprising to know that some hate themselves and the family they were born into. Begin to love yourself today and Progress shall be yours. I've heard of people saying, "My nose or eyes are too big," "I'm lame," and "I'm from a disadvantaged home and therefore born without a silver spoon," I wish I am as beautiful as this person or that person," "I wish I'm from a wealthy home," "I wish I can walk perfectly." Stop giving excuses and work to be yourself. Don't be like Mauvais Ouvrier ne trouve jamais (a bad Workman that always complain about his tools).

There's a potential in you that can catapult you to your next level in life. Find out what that potential is.

The fact that you've failed so many times shouldn't deter you from being you. Continue striving and striving and striving and success shall be yours at last. Know who you are and ACT accordingly. Havighust(1972) highlighted some worries/concerns that affects not just adolescents only but those still seeking for their true self. They're listed below.

1. Achieving assurance of economic independence.
2. Achieving emotional independence from parents and adults.
3. Desiring and achieving social responsible behaviour.
4. Developing an IDENTITY.
5. Achieving new and more mature relation with age mates of both sexes.
6. Achieving masculine and feminine social roles.
