The Frenchman has been in inspired form for the Red Devils in recent weeks, saving the club from utter embarrassment single-handedly.

After a stuttering start to the season, Jose Mourinho has had no choice but the play the young forward due to his goal contributions.

The latest strike has come against Bournemouth, who were leading United before the goal.

The Cherries deservedly took the lead after Callum Wilson converted from a low cross from Junior Stanislas.

But 10 minutes before half-time, Martial was the man to save United's bacon once more after a fine goal.
Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young were involved in some smart play before the Chilean cut the ball back for the former Monaco star.

Martial then coolly converted with an exquisite touch in the box to leave Asmir Begovic with no chance.
And in the process, the France international bagged a personal record.

Martial has now scored in four consecutive Premier League matches for the first time, with goals against Newcastle, Chelsea, Everton and now Bournemouth.

Perhaps most impressive was his double against Chelsea which could have led United to victory had it not been for a late Ross Barkley equaliser.

The 22-year-old was awarded the United Player of the Month by the fans after his impressive form, and he has started this month with the same mentality.

It comes after a precarious summer where the striker was odds-on to leave Old Trafford, with Juventus, Chelsea and Tottenham interested.

Despite reports that Mourinho was not a big fan of the star, he has recently come out and stated he wants him to stay amid the current contract negotiations.

"I know the club wants him very much to stay, so hopefully he is going to stay," said Mourinho.

"One thing is that he's a talented player that everybody knows he is - since he was in Monaco, everybody knows he was a talented player.
"Another thing is, a talented player with consistency and understanding of what a football match is in the globality.

"So, when you reach that level or when you are almost reaching that level, it's when you become a player - what I say, a top player.

"Because one thing is top talent, another is top player.
"So, when he is now much closer to being a top player, obviously I would like him to stay."
