I consider the press statement released by TTAG-ASHBA on the 4th September 2017 on the subject RESTORATION OF THE TEACHER TRAINEES’ ALLOWANCES NOT SAME AS FREE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL as unfortunate and wish to express my deepest disappointment regarding the statement. I believe the statement is ostensibly politically motivated and seeks to make the ruling New Patriotic Party popular in the face of the Ghanaian populace with regards to the flagship free SHS policy to the detriment of it’s members.

I personally wrote an open letter to the speaker of parliament expressing my discontent and intense aversion with regards to this semester fees seeking for an intervention and for *TTAG-ASHBA* to release a statement which cynically sabotages my plea of reduction in fees, clearly indicates total neglection of it’s members by the Association. It is also apparent that there are no contemporaneous effort by our Association to help fight this course.

Based on these developments, it is my considered opinion that, TTAG as the parent association should step in this issue and also wish to draw to the attention of TTAG that, most of its members feel neglected in our quest to fight for reduction in our fees.

Again, I believe that, statements of this nature is unethical, highly invidious and capable of getting members of TTAG infuriated. TTAG-ASHBA shouldn’t forget that a well timed silence always have more eloquence than speech. Let us not forget the laws that binds us as an association.
In conclusion, I advise that, students leaders must refrain from active body politics and rather speak to issues for the betterment of its members.
